Braamfontein, Newtown - the heart and soul of Johannesburg and the new mecca for all things trendy and foodie! This week, I explore 2 incredible finds in this unique part of our city... The story starts with a quaint, intimate and very stylish bistro-styled restaurant that will make you feel like you have left Johannesburg and stepped into Stellenbosch - its relaxed, yet stylish ambiance makes for a very different and excited dining experience for a weekend brunch or lunch...this best kept secret and gem is no other than...Daleahs The menu hangs with pride in the center of the restaurant and diners are asked to use the big black board to make their choices - they have a wide variety of breakfast dishes, light meals (such as sandwiches and salads) to more hearty dishes, which includes delicious, sticky ribs stacked high to satisfy any hunger. What really makes this restaurant stand out is its unique plating of the food, the decor is industrial, yet very calming and homely - I can highly recommend their sandwich made with their home-made pretzel dough - it is worth every cent of the R10 extra charge! I hope the following pictures gives the food its much needed praise and makes you want to go there soon... It is recommended to call and book a table, but if you want to be brave and just go, the gem can be found at 6 De Beer Street, Braamfontein and can be contacted on +27 87 550 3476 The next gem is probably no surprise or secret to all foodies in the city...it is a very close sister to the famous Biscuit Mill in Cape Town - the gem is the hot, buzzing and phenomenal...Neighbourgoods Market Open every Saturday, this food market delights the senses with plenty of unique and special foods to taste and buy - it is extremely popular and can get very busy, it is recommended to get there early and savor the senses of all the individual stores that ooze L.O.V.E! with their produce that they prepare and sell. The market is situated at 73 Juta Street - safe and secure under cover parking can be found in Juta Street at a flat fee of R12. I hope I have made you excited and ignited your adventurous side to go and try these and other gems in Braamfontein, the areas has gone through a revamp - Newtown, inner city is getting its soul and L.O.V.E! back with vengeance - remember to explore and always live life to the fullest! ** For regular restaurant reviews - visit my Zomato site at www.zomato.com/KevFabFood **
